Ilpo Väisänen & MimiCof, improvised duo
Finnish musician and producer Ilpo Väisänen became known for his duo Pan Sonic, together with Mika Vainio, who died in an accident in 2017. Both Mika and Ilpo were among the first in the Media Loca roster with their duo project, later also with their solo performances and numerous collaborations.
Ilpo Väisänen is closely associated with Media Loca not only as a highly esteemed musician but also through his long-standing friendship with Mo Loschelder.
His powerful live performances combine dub and drone.

Born in Kyoto and based in Berlin since 2008, Midori Hirano is characterized by a constant expansion of her spectrum. Originally trained on the piano, she soon added electronics and eventually created her purely electronic alter ego MimiCof.
In July 2021, MimiCof performed for the first time together with Ilpo Väisänen, starting with a solo and followed by an improvised trio (at that time still with Schneider TM). The two artists immediately clicked, so much so that this constellation should have been repeated long ago.
In the redesigned Galilaäkirche, where Ilpo had already made a strong impression at the end of 2022, the two will perform together again on Saturday, June 29, first solo and then as a duo.
