What a great festival we have coming our way!Medanz Festival 2026 in Orewa (Auckland)
24 to 26 April 2026
This will be a simplified festival. Encompassing our true MEDANZ spirit of like-minded people, with this year MEDANZ Festival in Orewa (Auckland) we are looking to share our love for Middle Eastern dance. It’s a time to catch up with old friends and make many newer ones, with space at the hudra to chill out or shop all weekend long. We have some fantastic tutors willing to share their vast knowledge of our beloved dance form. They will be teaching us something new, some different combos and getting us more inspired to try something different. Our workshops will be available over Saturday and Sunday only. We will have a variety of levels and topics for you to choose from, it will be very enticing to try to do them all!
We are starting the weekend on Friday night with a meet and greet which is free for you all to attend, which will be filled with laughter and catching up.
Saturday night's entertainment will take the form of an Open Stage - Bellydance style with dance performances from around New Zealand keen to entertain you (applications will be available soon). As we don’t often have the opportunity to perform on a real stage these days, we will be dancing on the stage at Orewa College.
On Sunday we party with a cabaret style Hafla where we can sit and chat and be entertained in a more relaxed atmosphere, plus we will have the chance to dance the night away as well! The Hafla will include performances learnt over the weekend so we can be in awe of the many very talented dancers amongst us.

If insufficient tickets are sold by 31 January 2026, the festival will be cancelled, and all tickets will be refunded less processing fees.
