The MEANWHILE gallery team is elated announce our upcoming gala and auction fundraiser on Saturday 30th November! This will be our second art auction, following on from the success of our last year's event. As you may know, MEANWHILE is an artist-run initiative. Since our inception in 2017, we have been run by a board of volunteers who facilitate the gallery’s program. We work with mostly early career artists and creatives to realise their artistic visions in our space. Each year we host between 7-16 exhibitions! Alongside our main exhibition program, we provide a free venue for performances, book launches, musical events and markets. We fund these events through various grant funding, as well as fundraising. We are currently between funding rounds at the moment and so, the MEANWHILE auction is back, with a twist!
This year we are hosting a gala, featuring not only an art auction, but also live music, poetry readings and refreshments. We will be auctioning donated works by artists associated with the gallery, the profits of which will be split 50/50 between them and MEANWHILE. We will be running a raffle, with the winner drawn at the Gala, tickets for this will be $5 each. New MEANWHILE merch will also be available!
Tickets to the event are $10
There will be a silent online auction on our website prior to the event. You will be able to peruse the donated pieces beforehand and bid, starting on 27th of November with final bids at the Gala.
Doors open at 5:30pm, with festivities kicking off at 6pm.
