On Saturday, April 11 we will be having a work day at Montana de Oro on the Canyon View Trail. The work will be mainly brushing and clean up. We will meet at the Islay Creek Road gate 9 am. We will carpool in, or you can ride your bike in. If we have enough people there might be a opportunity to ride your bike to the work site further up the trail. Others will start working from the bottom of the trail. Please fill out the required waivers.
Let me know if you can attend at [email protected]
All volunteers get a chance at winning Trail Worker Rewards for gift cards and prizes from several of our sponsors:
• Ancient Owl
• Art's Cyclery
• Cielo restaurant
• Linn's restaurant
• Wally Bicycle Works
Tell your friends! Bring your friends!
IMPORTANT - BRING:
- Gloves
- Eye Protection
- Bike Helmet (doubles as a hard hat!) and your bike if you want to ride rather than hike
- Boots or very sturdy footwear
- Clothing suitable for the changing weather conditions of MdO and possible poison oak contact!
- Water/Food
Poison Oak Disclaimer: As typical with MdO, there are pockets of poison oak scattered throughout our work areas wherever we work. Most of our work is on trail but some brush work will always be necessary during the course of a project so it is always best to plan on being in contact with poison oak so please, wear appropriate clothes like long sleeves, long pants, and gloves. Wash up vigorously at the completion of the work period, we'll have soap and towels, and be cautious how you handle your clothing and you'll have no problem. Watch this video BEFORE heading out to work for best results!
Tools and guidance will be provided. Again, spread the word!
