All 6th thru 12th grade students are invited to audition for Disney's The Little Mermaid​

AUDITIONS
Monday & Tuesday, September 8th & 9th, 7:00 to 9:00 pm
Auditions open to 6th grade through 12th grade.
Music: Each person should prepare a 30 second vocal of a Disney song of their choice (nothing from Little Mermaid)
Readings: All people auditioning will be asked to “cold read” from the script, provided at auditions.
Choreography: A short dance combination will be taught and performed during auditions. Wear appropriate clothing and shoes that you can comfortably and safely dance in. Please bring a water bottle with you.

CALLBACKS
Callbacks are not anticipated, however if the Director needs to see more, you will be brought back Wednesday, September 10th at 7:00 pm. Both students and their guardian will be contacted if they are being asked to attend callbacks.

Callbacks are not a guarantee of a role, also please do not be discouraged if you do not get a callback.

If you are cast, there is a $50.00 participation fee for this production. Scholarships (partial or full) are available if needed. Please contact a producer if you need a scholarship.

​REHEARSALS
A read-through/parent meeting will take place soon after the cast has been selected. This will allow the production team to clearly outline expectations of the team, cast and parents. The cast members will be given their scripts so that they can begin working on their role. (date to be determined)

Rehearsals for this production will begin September 15th at Marshall High School, Marshall, Michigan.

Rehearsals run Monday-Friday 6:30-9 pm at the MHS, Marshall, Michigan.
​​​** Conflicts will need to be listed on your audition sheet in order for them to be honored.
** Starting with Load in, ALL cast members must be present, no exceptions.

Important Dates:
Load In: November 2nd partial load in, full load in November 5th
Tech Rehearsal: Tentative date Nov 9th
Show dates: November 13-16

Character Breakdown
Ariel
A mermaid and King Triton's youngest daughter. She is obsessed with everything about the human world, and dreams of becoming a part of life above the water. Hardheaded, naive, and emotional, but also kindhearted.

Prince Eric
A human monarch who has no interest of taking the crown. A handsome, affable lad with a buoyant, adventurous nature. After Ariel saves his life, he becomes obsessed with finding her and hearing her voice once more.

Grimsby
Prince Eric's British guardian. Droll, stuffy, and constantly urging Eric towards his royal duties, specifically marriage.

Flounder
A fish and smitten with Ariel, his best friend. Rambunctious but cautious, fearful of the dangers that lurk in and above the water.

​Scuttle
A disheveled seagull and expert in human artifacts. Loudmouthed, optimistic, and a bit ignorant, despite his supposed expertise.

King Triton
King of the Sea and Ariel's father. Beneath his imposing presence and commanding nature lurks a harried single father who will do anything to protect his daughters. The death of his wife has also given him an irrational fear of humans.

Sebastian
A crab and advisor to King Triton. A musical virtuoso who is constantly distraught from keeping after Ariel. Despite his paranoia, he can't bring himself to stand in Ariel's way.

Flotsam
An eel and one of Ursula's lackeys. Oily and spineless, he will say anything you want or need to hear.

Jetsam
An eel and one of Ursula's lackeys. Oily and spineless, he will say anything you want or need to hear.

Ursula
The banished Sea Witch and sister of King Triton. Supposedly spurned at childhood, she will use whatever method necessary to steal the kingdom and claim it as her own. Malevolent, calculating, and deceptive.

Chef Louis
The French palace chef, diabolical and violent. A culinary perfectionist with an affinity for blades, seafood in particular.
