About this Event
Immerse yourself in the world of theatrical storytelling in this two-part character design workshop led by local illustrator Laura Darling
In week one (8th June), you’ll design your own original character, drawing inspiration from the museum's new temporary exhibition 'Curtain Call: Costumes from Stage to Screen'. Through guided exercises, you’ll explore how clothing, posture, and expression can reveal personality and spark narrative ideas.
In week two (15th June), you’ll develop your character through creating a unique artist’s book. Experiment with layout, sequencing, and visual storytelling as you create a handcrafted piece that brings your character’s world to life.
Open to all skill levels, this two-part workshop offers a supportive and inspiring space to experiment with illustration and explore creative book-making techniques.
Tickets include admission to both sessions plus all drawing materials provided.
