About this Event
A Detroit hip-hop compilation curated and executive produced by Scootie McB, featuring a powerful lineup of recording artists emerging from Detroit. Recorded in 2011 while Scootie was living in Chicago, the project was shaped by constant travel between the two cities, driven by a mission to document and recruit the most vital voices coming out of Detroit at the time.
Originally slated to release in 2012 the compilation features early contributions from Zelooperz, Nolan the Ninja, Moschino Jones, Dej Loaf, Richy Marciano, Clear Soul Forces, Phil Fresh (Smile Brand) and Sheefy McFly. Now releasing in 2026— fifteen years after its original conception—the body of work stands as a sonic time capsule, unearthed years later to capture a raw, pivotal moment in Detroit’s hip-hop lineage before many of these artists reached wider recognition.
