MC Jazz Fest Woodbridge - Shayna Steele, Eli Yamin Jazz & Blues Band, WHS Jazz Choir Shayna’s effortless execution of both soul and jazz has grabbed the attention of audiences globally, be it the Monterey Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival with Snarky Puppy or the hundreds of Symphony Orchestras throughout North America.
Shayna has performed as the guest soloist with The Dallas Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, Detroit Symphony Orchestra where she debuted her solo Blues program Nothin' But the Blues with Grammy Award winning composer and conductor, Jeff Tyzik, to name a few.
Throughout her career, Shayna has lent her talent to leading artists such as Grammy-winning trumpeter, Chris Botti; Moby, whose tracks Raining Again, Disco Lies, and Extreme Ways, featured Shayna’s blockbuster vocals. Snarky Puppy’s, Michael League, handpicked Shayna’s original track, Gone Under, for inclusion in their huge hit, Family Dinner, Volume 1 album (Ropeadope Records) which has become a viral sensation with over 2 million views and countless covers from musicians globally.
And no stranger to both the small and silver screens, Shayna has sung on the Wicked, Hairspray, the Bourne Identity, and Sex and the City 2 soundtracks, as well as making a guest appearance on The Sopranos! Shayna recently made an appearance on two episodes of the Marvel series Penguin, starring Colin Ferrell on MAX.
Shayna has appeared in the smash hit musical, RENT, as well as Jesus Christ Superstar, and then her original roll in the massive Tony Awarding winning musical, Hairspray!
She has provided background vocals for artists such as Bette Midler, Rihanna, and Kelly Clarkson, along with other countless A list stars. After going solo, writing, and putting her band together, Shayna has released 4 studio albums with her second album RISE, reaching #2 on the U.S. iTunes jazz charts and #1 on the international jazz charts.

Pianist, composer, and producer Eli Yamin has dedicated his life to performing, teaching, and building community through jazz. He has performed and toured as a jazz ambassador for the United States in over 25 countries, and at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the White House.
His recordings include You Can’t Buy Swing with his jazz quartet; I Feel So Glad, with his blues band; Louie’s Dream, dedicated to “our jazz heroes,” with New Orleans-based clarinetist Evan Christopher, Live In Burghausen with jazz icon, Illinois Jacquet, and five Cds with baritone saxophonist Claire Daly, including Swing Low, on display at the William J. Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock.
Eli co-founded and now directs Jazz Power Initiative, the uptown NYC based non-profit organization dedicated to transforming lives through jazz arts education and performance. His three youth-centered musicals have been performed internationally and across the U.S. including Message From Saturn, about the healing power of the blues, presented with Summerfest/Jazzmobile in Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem in July 2021. Eli holds a Masters in Music Education from Lehman College, City University of New York, and his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Stony Brook, State University of New York.
As a pianist:
A Steinway artist, Eli Yamin has performed with his quartet blues band as a cultural ambassador for the U.S. Department of State in Russia, Guatemala, Montenegro, Mali, India, China, Brazil, Chile, Greece, Albania, and Romania. He has performed at Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York, and The Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and international festivals including The Newport Jazz Festival, The Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, The St. Petersburg Jazz Festival, Guatemala Jazz Festival, and Marciac, France. He has also appeared several times at the Obama White House including participating in the first-ever White House Jazz Studio. Eli has recorded eight CDs featuring his music.
