Today's Mayfair Organ Concert is given by Travis Baker (Royal Birmingham Conservatoire) who will be performing the following programme:
JS Bach - Fantasia super 'komm, heiliger Geist' BWV 651
JS Bach - 'Nun komm der Heiden Heiland' BWV 659
Reger - Introduction and Passacaglia in D minor
Duruflé - Scherzo Op. 2
JS Bach - Fugue in E flat major 'St Anne' BWV 552
As always admission is free with a retiring collection in aid of the series
A native of Melbourne, Australia, Travis Baker is considered to be one of the finest organists of his homeland.
Travis is now based in England studying with world-renowned concert Organist, Dame Gillian Weir. He recently completed a Masters Degree in Instrumental Performance, (organ) at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, under the tutelage of Daniel Moult, and he is also resident organ teacher at Battle Abbey School.
His recital career regularly takes him throughout the U.K., Continental Europe, Scandinavia and America. His growing reputation has led to invitations to give the Annual Opening Concert for the Organ Club of Great Britain and to première David Loxley-Blount’s Knotweed, commissioned by the Eric Thompson Trust.
Travis also works with the boy choristers of Westminster Abbey and collaborates with the Education Department of Glyndebourne Opera working regularly with world-renowned voice coach, Mary King.
