Save the date, Thursday May 21st, 2026.
I’m putting together a day-long Bicycling Advocacy experience highlighting Richmond’s bike-ability.
As a participant in a local group that is planning for strategic vision (Bike/Walk Richmond), being the founder of efforts: bikeINrichmond, Richmond Rose Pedals, and Bike+ Tours & Events, and as a newer member and 2-year board member of state-wide Bicycle Indiana, I am reaching out to inform my fellow Richmond citizens of our city-wide bicycling potential.
1) Join for coffee and listen in during a morning planning meeting re Richmond Complete Streets at City Hall.
2) Take part in bike ride to lunch along the Richmond Bike Loop.
3) Learn what downtown businesses and residenctial developers are seeing re Bike Loop infrastructure now 5 yrs old.
4) Tour East in a group ride to experience the route many retail and restaurant workers walk, pedal, ride public bus, or Uber/cab/Lyft to their place of work.
5) Return by way of Hayes Arb Mtn Bike location, navigating east-side big box retailers, pass through Glen Miller Park, pedal on the American Heritage Trail, access the Depot District, Cardinal Greenway, Gorge Trail, and Whitewater Gorge’s Starr-Gennett Area. Return on Bike Loop to City Hall Starting point.
6) stay for an after hours workshop enjoying dinner and shared visions from the day’s ride.
Please message [email protected] for inquiring how to participate. Let’s get group of 50 to 100!
Only cost is your lunch and dinner. If needing to stay over-nite day before, I will have reduced room rates. If you’d like to sponsor/promote on the sidelines, advocate for your organization if it has ties to bicycle commuting, recreation, healthy lifestyle, please contact me.
