About this Event
Join us on May 4th for a unique wine exploration where we look at the "philosophy of the cellar" through a cinematic lens. In winemaking, there is a constant struggle for balance—between the urge to protect the fruit’s natural purity and the desire to harness its most powerful, brooding elements. Our expert Wine Educator, Beth Bornstein from West Side Grapes, will guide you through this "battle for the vine," showing how winemakers choose to align with the Light, the Dark, or the ancient Force that connects them both.
We will begin our journey with The Light Side, featuring a sparkling wine that is a masterclass in preservation. You will learn how winemaking can act as a guardian, shielding the wine from the elements to "freeze" fresh, vibrant fruit flavors in time. From there, we move to The Force, a textured white wine that represents the perfect middle ground. This selection embodies the ancient balance between refreshing energy and soulful, honeyed depth. And finally, we surrender to The Dark Side with a bold red that embraces the power of the skin. This is a wine of intense concentration, where the winemaker has pulled every bit of brooding complexity—smoke, spice, and dark fruit—from the vine.
Whether you are a Jedi Master or a new apprentice in the world of wine, this tasting offers a fun, high-energy way to understand how winemakers manipulate the "Force" of nature to create the styles we love. Guests will enjoy a selection of delicious appetizers to accompany the wines’ vibrant personalities.
Reserve your glass today for our May 4th journey—space is limited, and the battle for your favorite 'side' awaits.
