CLEAResult's MS Check Remote Training goes over testing procedures for "mini split" style heat pump equipment.
About this Event

This MS Check training course is a remote, web-based (Microsoft Teams) presentation. For this, you must have a digital device (laptop, computer, tablet) and be connected to high-speed internet. We advise against joining from a smart phone.

In this HVAC Check Training, service/installation technicians will be trained in the Mini-Split (MS) Check procedure. MS Check is a new testing procedure, developed by CLEAResult, for single-head and multi-head Mini-Split Heat Pumps. Technicians are trained to verify proper system installation, ensuring maximum efficiency, comfort, and savings for their customers and reducing call backs due to system issues. Training includes software overview of Manual J Load Calculation and Manual D Duct Design procedures. MS Check trained contractors are also eligible for a $130 incentive per passing test.

The HVAC Check training program has two different testing procedures:

  1. AC Check for conventional AC and Heat Pump systems.
  2. MS Check for “mini split” style heat pumps, for contractors that primarily install “mini split” style systems.

AC Check and MS Check procedures are covered in separate 2-hour trainings. Technicians may take one or both trainings, depending on systems most frequently installed. It is not required to train in both procedures.

AC Check and MS Check trained contractors are eligible for a $130 incentive per passing test. Only Heat Pumps are eligible for Service Testing, once every 5 years.

Each technician is required to have their own set of tools for AC and MS Check certification. Please email [email protected] for a list of trainer-recommended tool packages to ensure your technicians are equipped with the proper testing equipment. Note that the industry standard tools used for MS Check will also be used for AC Check. If tools must be purchased, retain a copy of the receipt to receive a reimbursement of up to $150 per technician.

Once the classroom training is completed, your company will receive a confirmation email along with program related materials. This email will also contain a Tech ID, which is assigned to each newly trained technician. For technicians previously trained and being reinstated, their previously issued Tech ID will be reactivated. An active Tech ID enables techs to perform AC Check and MS Check test services to your customers.

To maintain this certification, each technician must demonstrate participation by completing a minimum of three passing and qualifying AC Check and/or MS Check tests annually (per calendar year). Failure to comply with the minimum testing requirements will result in suspension of their Tech ID, and additional training will be required.
