This month we will celebrate Tango no Sekku (端午の節句), or Boys Day, which is usually celebrated on May 5th of each year. During this day, families will fly their colorful “koinobori” (carp streamers) and decorate their homes with a doll collection and replicas of Japanese samurai armor and helmets. This is done in hopes of having a strong and healthy boy.
We will have crafts and games related to Boys Day as our presentation. We will also enjoy Onigiri (Japanese rice balls) and Tonjiru (a savory miso soup) etc. Adults $17, members aged 70 years and over are $12. We offer a kid’s meal (Karaage – fried chicken) for $10 and children 8 and under are free.
Please use the link in the tickets section to RSVP before the end of the day on Wednesday, May 15th. While we appreciate RSVPs on Facebook, the information we receive via the link is what we will use to plan how much food to prepare.
