About this Event
Our friends from Swaner Preserve & EcoCenter and Summit Land Conservancy will discuss the importance of open space and land conservation for water in Summit County.
Wetlands like the Swaner Preserve are extremely rare in the state of Utah, and provide valuable ecological services like improving water quality, recharging groundwater, providing critical habitat and educational activities, and so much more! Learn about the history and importance of this protected open space with a short guided tour onto the Preserve. Spring brings over 100 species of birds and wildlife to the Preserve- you never know what you might see!
This event will take place outdoors both on the back deck of Swaner EcoCenter and on the Preserve. Please come dressed for the weather.
The evening will include a short walking tour of the preserve – closed toe shoes and long pants are recommended. We will be walking on generally flat terrain with a slight uphill grade. Tall grass, uneven footing, and wet ground may be encountered.
Driving and parking information can be found on Swaner’s website. Please carpool or take alternative methods of transportation if possible.
This event is 21+. Registration required. Donations appreciated!
Do you or others in your group need any special accommodations? If so, please let us know how we can help. Accommodations can only be guaranteed if requested 15 days in advance.
