Radical history walking tour, part of Glasgow Trades Council's May Day programme 2026
About this Event

This walk delves into the city’s radical histories; from class struggles to queer activism. It contains as much of Glasgow’s radical past and present as we can fit into two hours: rent strikes, revolutionaries, queer renegades, witchcraft, refugees, Red Clydeside, Calton Weavers, International Brigades, anarchism, anti-apartheid movement and much more.

See a different side of the city and learn who really made Glasgow.

Distance: This walk covers a distance of 1.7 miles through the city centre and will finish close to main public transport links (St Enoch subway).

Accessibility: This route is on city pavements and does not include any steep hills. If you would like to see a detailed map of the route, or if there is any further information that would be helpful for access please email us: radicalglasgowtours at gmail.com.

Pricing: our public tours are always pay what you can. Suggested donations are £5/£7/£15(solidarity rate). If the cost is in any way a barrier to you taking part, please just drop us a line and we will sort you out with free tickets!

Multiple tickets: Eventbrite won't accept orders for multiple tickets under the pay what you can option. If you want more than one, you can either choose Tickets (they will be £7) or if you want to pay a lower (or higher!) amount then anoyingly you'll need to order each ticket separately. Sorry for the hassle!

Dogs: apart from guide dogs, we ask that people please not bring dogs on the tours.
