Join us for our May Pet Social at The Pedaler’s Fork patio on Saturday, May 30 at 11:00am.This will be our first patio Pet Social of the season, and it is one of my favorite kinds of training days because we get to practice real life skills in a real life setting. You can enjoy lunch or a drink while your pet practices calm behavior, leash manners, and relaxing around other pets and people.
Big news: This Pet Social is open to the public, so you are welcome to invite a friend to join us!
If your friend would like to bring a pet, they must RSVP and submit vaccine records in advance so we can keep the event safe and comfortable for everyone. If they are not sure whether their pet is ready for a patio yet, they are very welcome to come without their pet and just watch and learn how these events work.
Pet Socials are structured training socials. This is not a dog park and pets will not be greeting each other. The goal is calm, neutral, relaxed behavior in a public space, which is an essential skill for therapy animals and adventure pets.
RSVP is required for all humans and pets by May 28:

If you are bringing a pet and have not done in person training with King’s Creatures, you must:
Submit the RSVP form
Email vaccine records by May 28
Confirm your RSVP through PocketSuite
Your spot is not confirmed until all steps are completed.
What we will practice
🐾Relaxing on a patio
🐾Calm behavior around other pets
🐾Loose leash walking to and from the patio
🐾Settling under or next to a table
🐾Ignoring food, people, and distractions
🐾Handler communication and advocacy skills
What to bring
🐾6 foot leash (no retractables)
🐾Treats
🐾Water for your pet
🐾A Place mat, if you have one
🐾Poop bags
🐾Comfortable shoes
🐾Your patience and sense of humor
If this is your first Pet Social with your pet, I recommend bringing a second human. That way, if you need to step away to work on calm, get some space, or take a little training walk, someone can stay and hold your table.
Arrive a little early so your pet has time to walk and settle before you sit down.
Important rules
💙No on leash greetings
💙Do not approach another pet unless invited
💙Give working teams space
💙Advocate for your pet so they can stay calm and successful
If your pet is barking, pulling, or unable to settle, that just means we need more distance and a training plan. I will help you!
Pet Socials are free to attend, but a $5 donation per pet and handler team is suggested to support Living Creatures Ministry, which helps train therapy animal teams for service in Lutheran congregations and community organizations.
These events are some of my favorite things we do at King’s Creatures. Good food, nice people, and pets learning how to be calm and confident in the real world. It doesn't get much better than that!
