About this Event
Thank you for your interest in the Peer Support Profession summit to be held on May 19-20, 2026 in Niagara Falls, NY ( USA). This cost-effective professional development summit brings together hundreds of organizations from across New York and various areas of North America. This summit will feature speakers with expertise and lived experience across systems that are relevant to the Peer Support Profession, including Mental Health, Recovery, Family and Youth, and other identified specialties and populations.
This year’s theme, “Lifting Up Individuals and Communities through the Lens of Inclusion,” reflects our shared belief that accessible, culturally responsive, person-centered, trauma-informed, cross-system peer support and resources foster healing, resilience, recovery, and mental health wellness for all.
Goals & Objectives:
System:
• Inform inclusive policy and practice standards to strengthen the recruitment, retention, and advancement of Peer Professionals across specialty areas.
• Examine the importance of adherence to the Peer Support model, highlighting core standards of practice that promote consistency and effectiveness in service delivery.
• Establish accountability measures for organizations, institutions and stake-holders that advance inclusive practices in underserved communities
• Expand capacity-building opportunities for non-licensed community-based organizations to provide Peer Support Services.
Practice:
• Affirm the roles of Peer Professionals within health and human service organizations
• Advance authentic inclusion of Peer Support across the Crisis Services Continuum of Care
• Develop culturally responsive engagement frameworks for diverse populations for Behavioral Health and other service providers.
• Elevate intersectional conversations involving Youth, Family Peers, LGBTQIA+ individuals, Justice-Involved individuals, Veterans, Rural communities, Aging and those impacted by complex social needs
• Center youth and young adult voices and experiences beyond performative actions
• Feature emerging and best practice leadership, supervision, and management models that promote wellness.
• Explore entrepreneurial and independent contractor models of Peer Support
Communities:
• Amplify the profession of Peer Advocacy roles and Peer support roles in community-based and clinical settings
• Advance efforts to diminish stigma and increase awareness of the transformative value of Peer Support services.
· Empower underserved communities with the resources needed to foster Peer Support conversations.
• Introduce workforce models of peer support models to grassroots and neighborhood-based organizations
Registration includes: All summit sessions, meals and various levels of CEU offerings pending.
We currently have NO scholarship offerings.
