On May 17th, 1974, three no-warning car bombs exploded in Dublin City, killing 27 people and injuring 258 more. Later that day, another bomb in Monaghan claimed 7 more innocent lives. In total, 34 people lost their lives, marking the darkest single day of the Troubles.
