Want to feel more confident, stable, and in control every time you get in a kayak? Kayak Essentials is a hands-on instructional class designed to build the foundational skills every paddler needs for safe and enjoyable time on the water.In this class, you’ll learn:
• Efficient forward and turning strokes
• Boat control and balance techniques
• How to enter and exit your kayak safely
• Wet exits and basic self-rescue concepts
• Practical tips for paddling lakes and calm waterways
This course is ideal for:
✔ New paddlers who want proper instruction
✔ Recreational kayakers looking to improve confidence
✔ Paddlers who are self-taught and want to refine technique
✔ Anyone planning to paddle more often or explore new water
Instruction is relaxed, supportive, and focused on real-world paddling skills you can use immediately. No advanced experience required—just a willingness to learn and get on the water.
Participants may bring their own kayak or use one of ours (available for the first 8 registrants).
Class size is limited to 8 paddlers.
Cost: $65 per person
Note: A Wisconsin State Park vehicle sticker is required for entry.
