On Maundy Thursday we remember Christ's last supper with his disciples and his command: "Love one another." The service begins with a festive celebration of the Sacrament of Holy Communion and ends in gentle darkness as we join Jesus in the garden to pray. Throughout the service we light and extinguish candles to remember the betrayal of the disciples. At First Presbyterian Church we practice open communion. This means that all people are welcome at the Lord's Table, regardless of church membership or affiliation.
