Duke of George presentsMatty T Wall Blues Bash 2025
Matty T Wall’s Birthday Blues Bash is back on for 2025 featuring 3 battle-hardened blues masters for a night of solid straight blues. Dave Brewer joins in for some sweet Stratocaster blues licks along with Andrew Winton on masterful slide guitar and “Diamond Dave Billing of the Doodaddies shredding on the harmonica! This will be a blues show not to miss for all those die-hard blues fans out there, with legendary drummer Ric Whittle on the drums and bassist Leigh Miller featuring all musicians together on stage jamming over their favourite blues standards.
Every time this event happens, it is a spectacle to behold for those blues fans out there, reminiscent of something that could happen in Buddy Guy’s Legends club in Chicago, but in none other than our favourite swanky New Orleans style Freo venue – the Duke of George. A show like none other!
Matty T Wall:
From sweet blues to gritty, stomping, blues-rocking beats, and now having eight nominations in the prestigious Independent Blues Awards in the USA, a Western Australian Music Award win and three back-to-back Number One Australian Blues albums, this is a breakout Australian blues artist you do not want to miss out on seeing, as the Matty T Wall band returns from tour in Europe this year featuring two killer rhythm legends of the scene, Ric Whittle on drums and Leigh Miller on bass guitar.
2019 saw Wall duetting with USA blues guitar legends such as Walter Trout, Eric Gales, Kirk Fletcher, Kid Ramos and fellow West Australian, Dave Hole, and following that up with a scorching live album “Live Down Underground” for 2022 – this band made waves at major Blues Festivals across Australia and Europe.
