The instrumentation of this trio, consisting of trumpet, drums and bass represents the quintessence of the music often called jazz. Berlins own Uli Kempendorff extends the trio for this special occasion. The trumpet player from Zurich and his collegues from Berlin are in search of the DNA of this music. Compositions by Monk, Ornette, Strayhorn and others are interpreted with creativity, courage and devotion. Personal expression and passionate research of unknown territories inside the compositions we thought we all knew before: those are the central ingredients of this band. In a raw and uncut fashion they get to the core of the matter.
