Singer-songwriter, Matthew Wise, has been touring Texas with Americana band Down for the Count for the last 12 years. When the pandemic shut down most venues and prevented the band from playing many shows, Matthew got back to writing. Currently working on his first solo album, his lyrics reveal an authenticity and depth you don’t often hear on the radio. From dancehall tunes to retrospective poetry, this songwriter’s heart is laid bare every night on the stage. Though the band loves playing this venue, this is Matthew Wise’s solo debut at Sam’s Burger Joint.
