After his last solo record “Way Out West” was hailed as a “Masterpiece” by Uncut and a “Career Zenith” by Classic Rock Mag the critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter is back with his most visceral, primal record to date.
Cut live to tape over two days at Middle Farm and featuring Paul Weller/ Ocean Colour Scene’s guitarist Steve Cradock, “The Wilderness Years” harks back to 70’s Neil Young, and the most joyous Drive-by Truckers, combined with jams that venture into the sonic palettes of War on Drugs.
Over the years Matt’s melodic, gritty guitar style has kept him in high demand, playing with members of Dire Straits, Ethan Johns, Laura Marling & Our Man in The Field amongst many others and his new band are the perfect foil for some incendiary jams.
In a special one-off solo show Matt is ecstatic to return to one of his favourite venues The Sound Lounge with new songs and old favourites.
Lost Chimes shall open for Matt. Lost Chimes are London-based wife and husband musicians Gemma and Nicky Kirk. They create music and site-specific audio-visual performances with a cutting edge, renowned for their emotive storytelling and live sound.
