Leave feeling grounded in your roots, recalibrated in your vision, recharged in your spirit, and confident in the path ahead.
Hosted by Walela, facilitated by Katherine Jacobs(Eastern Band Cherokee).
Included in your ticket:
- Two-hour hosted networking experience with self-guided Painting (painting kit provided).
- Light food and beverages
- Intentional connection with Indigenous women entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals across the valley.
About the Host
Our Matriarch Mixer sister, Katherine Jacobs, is the owner and designer of Walela. She was born and raised on the Qualla Boundary in Cherokee, North Carolina where she fell in love with painting the nature surrounding her. Katherine creates artwork rooted in healing, connection, and kinship with abstract nature designs. Walela's mission is to give back to Indigenous domestic violence survivors and MMIW initiatives with proceeds from the business.
The Matriarch Mixer is part of Indigenous Community Collaborative’s mission to advance economic opportunity for Indigenous entrepreneurs by creating spaces for connection, collaboration, and community building. Each mixer is co-hosted with fellow sisters and business owners Turquoise Devereaux (@indigenousskye), Mikenzi Dupree (@stillshelives), Jillian Waln (Konekted Media), Katherine Jacobs (@artbywalela), Roshan Spottsville (@photographybyroshan) and Carol Deed (@Generations4Change)
