About this Event
Matcha Latte 101 class — Learn to make matcha lattes the right way and meet other tea lovers in Chicago! In this friendly, hands-on class led by Hiroko of Matcha Made Right, who learnt Urasenke tea ceremony in Japan, you’ll explore how matcha is grown, produced, and whisked into a smooth, flavorful latte.
We’ll talk about how harvest and processing shape taste, learn the basics of creating silky microfoam, and taste how different matcha grades express umami and sweetness. Oat milk will be used for the latte portion to highlight matcha’s natural sweetness and creamy balance.
Each participant will whisk their own matcha and enjoy a chocolate pairing designed to complement the tea. Whether you’re curious about matcha or already love it, this class offers a friendly way to learn, taste, and enjoy.
