The first concert of the 2024-2025 season is MasterWorks I: Kanneh-Mason Plays Coleridge-Taylor on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 7:30PM. The concert features guest soloist Braimah Kanneh-Mason, violin, and is presented by Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC.We are delighted to welcome British violinist Braimah Kanneh-Mason to Canton for his Umstattd Hall debut to kick off our 2024-2025 season. A semi-finalist on Britain’s Got Talent and a veteran of performances at the BBC Proms and the Royal Albert Hall, Kanneh-Mason introduces to Canton, for the very first time, the violin concerto of his fellow countryman Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. This all-British program is rounded out by the grand and noble first symphony of Edward Elgar. The only symphony in the repertoire written in the key of A-flat major, this piece makes its return to Canton after a more than thirty year absence. Opening night also marks the official beginning of Matthew Jenkins Jaroszewicz’s tenure as music director. It will be a night not to be missed!
