About this Event
In honor of Masters Weekend, you’re invited to a special Masters Mahjong experience—created for beginners and designed to feel welcoming from the moment you arrive.
Join Old Dominion Mahjong on Saturday, April 11 from 1:30–4:00 PM for a guided, step-by-step introduction to Mahjong in a private studio setting.
Located just behind Wegmans in Gainesville, VA, this small group experience is perfect if you’ve been curious about Mahjong but weren’t sure where to begin.
✨ No experience needed. You’ll be guided through everything with ease.
Check in begins at 1:15 PM, and we will begin promptly at 1:30 PM.
During this Mahjong 101 lesson, you’ll learn:
• How to recognize tiles and suits
• How to read the National Mahjong League card
• The Charleston (the signature exchange)
• How a game flows so you can confidently join a table
The pace is approachable, instructions are clear, and questions are always encouraged—so you’ll never feel lost or behind.
All tiles, cards, and supplies are provided—just arrive and enjoy the experience.
Light snacks will be served, and guests are welcome to bring their beverage of choice.
