About this Event
Flashbacks and backstory are powerful storytelling tools—but when used incorrectly, they can slow down your narrative and confuse readers. If you’ve ever struggled with when and how to incorporate them, this class is for you!
In this workshop, you’ll learn:
- The key differences between flashback and backstory—and why they should be handled differently
- Common pitfalls writers face when using these techniques
- Practical strategies to weave flashback and backstory seamlessly into your storytelling, adding depth and clarity
This class is open to writers of all levels and genres—including nonfiction writers! Please bring a notebook and pen or a laptop, as we’ll dive into a short writing exercise to put these techniques into practice.
