Masterclass; Sustainability and Social Enterprises: Insights and Practical Action for Business Benefits delivered by Dr Veronica Broom
About this Event

Founders and Directors of social enterprises can feel confused and at times overwhelmed as they try to grasp what sustainability really means and how it will affect their enterprise. Despite frequent use of the word 'sustainability' in the media, it is unclear to many what practical actions they can take to make sustainability a natural approach to the day-to-day operations of their organisations.
Indeed, there is growing acknowledgement that sustainability may affect smaller-sized enterprises because of legislative changes that will affect people already in the workplace, future talent pipeline and the need for changing skill sets to increase employability and develop resilience in supply chains.

In this masterclass, Dr Veronica Broomes will explore the basics of sustainability -what it means, why it matters and how you can use a Sustainability Audit to have a customised roadmap for sustainability in your social enterprise. Find out also how to overcome misleading perceptions about sustainability and how to gain clarity about reasons your organisation should embrace sustainability for positive impacts on the values underpinning your social enterprise.

Key takeaways from this session:

·Understand the basic pillars of sustainability and its relevance to social enterprises.

·Gain practical insights into how a Sustainability Audit can help social enterprises create a
customised roadmap reflective of the aims of their enterprise and who they serve.

·Discover myths about sustainability and 'net zero' that hinder progress for enterprise growth.
