Masterclass INSIDE NATURE/Secret Fruits
All my works take inspiration from the observation of nature. I usually walk in the countryside where I live and get inspiration by the landscape around me, looking to keep in my mind the colors and the shapes of the elements of nature. Sometimes can be a seed, a fruit, a flower, a coloured leaf. They express fragility and changes and I try to record the emotion that they give to me into the clay, taking care of details. I would love to give voice to the sensual power of nature as the origin of life, trying to create a sort of imaginary, fantastic and corporeal herbarium. In the process I always discover a little bit of myself.
In this workshop we will focus on building a little porcelain “Fruit-Sculpture” taking inspiration from some shapes and colors of nature. The participants will learn how:
to create a natural shape starting from a sketch and using the pinch and coil
and slab technique
to mix the pigments in to the porcelain in different percentage
to turn colored slip into colored dough and create a personal dough colors
palette
to work with tiny porcelain elements and adding them to the shaped body.
We will focus on details working slowly , listen to the creativity flow and ourself... Going inside nature...
