This full-day drawing workshop is designed to build strong foundational skills in both figure movement and portrait structure.

Working with a clothed model, participants will develop observational accuracy, confidence in proportion, and a deeper understanding of form.

The day is divided into two focused sessions:

Figure Gesture & Proportion

• Quick dynamic sketches
• Capturing movement and weight
• Understanding proportion and body structure
• Simplifying complex forms into strong shapes

This session trains your ability to capture the overall energy and posture of the figure — fast, confident and accurate.

Portrait Drawing for Oil Painting Preparation

• Head structure and facial proportion
• Light and shadow modelling
• Capturing likeness
• Building tonal depth

This session focuses on preparing students for oil portrait painting by strengthening drawing accuracy and structural understanding.

A strong drawing foundation is essential before moving into paint.

All materials are provided.
The studio will supply:

• Drawing paper
• Charcoal sticks

Students do not need to bring any tools.

• Beginners wanting structured training

• Students building portfolio skills
• Anyone wanting to improve observational drawing
