This workshop is designed for anyone wanting to begin or advance in their headstand and arm balance practice; it is all levels, no experience is necessary to attend. We will begin with a simple flow to fire up the main muscle groups used for headstands and arm balances. After the warm up we will dive into detail about the fundamentals of supported yoga headstand (Salamba Sirsasana) and crow pose (Kakasana), as well as learn exercises to practice which help build strength and body awareness needed for these poses. I will discuss benefits of introducing headstand and crow into one's yoga practice and introduce new variations of the poses for students to explore. We will end the workshop with a nice stretch and cool down flow to ground us. Suggestions before workshop:
-Dress as you would for yoga class
-Eat a light meal 2 hours before
-Come hydrated/well rested and bring water
-Bring journal for notes (or use phone to record)
-Release all expectations before workshop
