Detroit, MI — A new destination for culture, cuisine, entertainment, and community is arriving on Detroit’s iconic Woodward Avenue as The Massidore proudly announces its highly anticipated Grand Opening & Launch Party on Friday, June 12, 2026.
Located near Detroit’s historic Boston-Edison District, The Massidore represents the continued rise and expansion of Black-owned businesses throughout the city while introducing an upscale dining, nightlife, and cultural experience to the Woodward corridor. Designed to blend elegance, live entertainment, and community engagement, The Massidore aims to become one of Detroit’s premier destinations for food, music, and social connection.
The evening, appropriately titled “A Taste of Detroit,” will serve as more than a grand opening celebration — it will be a full cultural experience showcasing the spirit, creativity, and energy of Detroit. Guests from across the city and beyond will gather for an unforgettable night featuring live jazz, soulful cuisine, networking, and entertainment in an atmosphere that celebrates Detroit’s rich culture and ongoing revitalization.
Attendees can expect an elegant and vibrant evening featuring exceptional soul food, live jazz performances, networking opportunities, a full cash bar, community and cultural celebration, celebrity guests, and an exclusive VIP ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The invitation-only VIP Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 PM and will welcome city officials, business leaders, entrepreneurs, media personalities, elected officials, and distinguished guests in celebration of Detroit’s continued economic growth and cultural renaissance.
Beginning at 7:00 PM, the official launch party and live entertainment experience will open to general admission guests. The evening’s entertainment will feature internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist Sky Covington alongside Club Crescendo, delivering a dynamic live jazz performance that embodies the sound and spirit of Detroit. Hosting the evening will be renowned Detroit entertainer and comedian Mike Bonner, bringing energy, humor, and excitement throughout the celebration.
