About this Event
Mason Cole, hailing from Shelby, North Carolina, embarked on his musical journey at the age of eleven when he received a guitar for Christmas. His passion ignited as he immersed himself in YouTube tutorials, mastering riffs that fueled his imagination. By twelve, he joined a junior high guitar class primarily as an excuse to play during school hours, but soon discovered a deeper passion for songwriting. Influenced by the sounds of Willie Nelson, George Jones, and Keith Whitley from his father's car rides, Mason later explored Americana and Red Dirt music, connecting with artists like Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson, which he felt was a natural extension of his musical roots.
Grounded and hardworking, Mason also contributes to his family's business, Simmons Structural Movers, where he helps relocate houses and mobile homes. This diligence flowed into his music, leading him to create his first project, "Lonesome Again," in a makeshift studio he built with his father. As his career progressed, Mason had the opportunity to perform alongside his musical idols, including Lainey Wilson and Craig Morgan. In 2023, he marked a significant milestone by signing a record deal with Santa Anna/Sony Music just after completing high school. With his band, The Hellbenders, Mason is now venturing into a more rock-driven sound, bringing energy and grit to his music while remaining true to his roots.
