About Mary:
Mary has been a passionate horsewoman for over twenty years with a special dedication to the art of classical dressage which she has studied under such wonderful teachers as Dr. Thomas Ritter, Charles de Kunffy and her mentors Paul Belasik and Andrea Velas with whom she regularly attends clinics and continuing education.
Earlier in her career Mary was faced with a number of "difficult" horses that often had been mentally and physically abused which helped to really set her demand for correct, kind and positive training. Even these horses soon became trusting, willing and physically able partners within her training system and went on to beautiful relationships with their future owners.
Mary's approach to kind and correct dressage training follows the classical Austro-Hungarian dressage system, written about extensively by the late master Alois Podhajsky and used every day by her mentor Paul Belasik at his lovely facility in Pennsylvania.
Working Equitation has become a passion for Mary in the last ten years with showing since 2019. Working Equitation gives the horses and riders a chance to use their classical dressage training in a sport that emphasizes harmoniously developed and trusting partnerships. It is a sport that encourages correct and classical development adding obstacles we well as speed and cattle work for deeper relationships with our horses. Mary is a master level rider and developing horses all through the levels.
