Please join us for the next performance in the Mary Whittle Concert Series at St. Thomas' on Saturday, April 18 at 7 pm, when we will present An Evening of Song with Georgia Rogers Farmer. Georgia will take us on a joyous ride through a variety of songs encompassing genres from musical theatre to classical, pop, standards, story-songs and more. Want Dolly Parton? You've got it. How about some Puccini? Done. There will be something for everyone. She's grateful to be joined by the uber talented, hard working musicians Joshua Wortham, Alex Kehayas, and Bentley Cobb. Not her typical cabaret, she's excited to share her voice in this concert setting. Come escape into the music and leave the church feeling fulfilled and happy.
Based in Richmond and originally from North Carolina, Georgia Rogers Farmer has over 3 decades of live performances to her credit and is also a self-proclaimed domestic goddess. Georgia has been featured in productions with Richmond Triangle Players, Virginia Repertory Theatre, Firehouse Theatre, Henrico Theatre Company, Liberty Theatre, Swift Creek Mill Theatre, HATTheatre, The North Carolina Theatre, Triad Stage, Temple Theatre and loads more. Some of her favorite roles include Nice Work If You Can Get It (Duchess), Souvenir (Florence Foster Jenkins), Kimberly Akimbo (Debra), Preludes (Dahl), The Drowsy Chaperone (Kitty), It Shoulda Been You (Jenny) and John & Jen (Jen). Her smash hit one woman cabarets include “Re-butter that Biscuit”, “Belle of the Balls”, “Horns and Corns”, “The Real Housewife of Chesterfield County” and on and on… More information can be found at georgiarogersfarmer.com.
This performance is presented by St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church and the Mary Whittle Concert Series. Tickets are $20 each and may be purchased through St. Thomas’s Paypal (please indicate that you are purchasing a ticket for the Mary Whittle Concert Series). Cash and check are accepted in advance through the parish office or at the door.
