Martin Stephenson’s one of Britain’s best-loved musicians. As a talented solo artist and with his band The Daintees he’s produced over 40 albums.
His unique and engaging live performances are an exuberant tour-de-force, combining heart-in-your-mouth intimacy with playful humour and warm self-deprecation.
Martin has been in session with the likes of Tom Robinson and Roddy Hart. He featured on Billy Connolly’s BBC TV documentary Made in Scotland in which he referred to Martin as ‘My kind of musician’.He has played thousands of shows and to-date has performed at Glastonbury three timesInspired by early Cure and the Brighton scene,
Martin’s career started as a busker aged 15. Martin developed his song-writing technique, taking inspiration from jazz, blues, country, skiffle and more – eventually this masterful mix of genres would become his musical trademark throughout his career.
His band The Daintees became a busking sensation and were signed by Kitchenware, They went on to tour with the likes of Aztec Camera, The Bluebells, Roy Buchanan, John Martyn
We are also happy to say Martin will be joined by the talented and long time friend Scott Macdonald. Scott a long time local to Milngavie will no doubt be looking forward to putting on a fantastic show.
