From the deepest, darkest parts of the West Midlands comes the sound of frustration, dreams and hard work. Upbeat to the point of euphoria, anthemic choruses set amongst verses of everyday life. Yes, Marquis Drive just might help you to escape the 9 to 5 and remind you that there is a Friday just around the corner.
Formed under a wandering star somewhere next to a Weatherspoon's, this 7- piece Indie band are born of a mutual love of football, clobber, and of course great music. They boast a truly epic sound; big guitars, big vocals and big percussion. Having built up a strong reputation up and down the country supporting major acts such as; Ocean Colour Scene, The Farm, Reverend and the Makers, The Wonder stuff and many more, Marquis Drive have delighted crowds with a set crammed-full of powerhouse Indie anthems.
Their first release “Proud” was released on 29th February 2020 with Creation23 records. It reached number 2 in the official vinyl charts. John Kennedy and Chris Moyles of Radio X are fans of the track, with Moyles playing it on the morning show. This was just before the world starting shutting down and the band had decided to lock themselves down in a local Weatherspoon's. Other releases followed: “Truth Don’t Shock” June ‘20, “Spaceman” Nov ‘20 and “21st Century Gospel” Apr ‘21.
Marquis Drive are an active band, developing a fanbase across the county. In 2019 they headlined Mosfest, Sheffield to a 5,000 strong audience. In 2021 following a successful support of Ocean Colour Scene at Bedford Park, they continued to support OCS with 4 nights at the Barrowlands, Glasgow in December. Marquis Drive played Creation Festival in May 2022 (20,000 capacity)
The number of streams the band has had isn’t too shabby either, over 780,000 in over 65 different countries! Marquis Drive are truly a worldwode phenomenon! Here’s what has been said about them: “A proper fackin’ band.” Danny Dyer
“Instant anthem” John Kennedy, Radio X
“Marquis Drive had the whole venue bouncing and singing as they created a real festival atmosphere. Such was the buzz created, it would be tough for any band to follow.” Sheffield Star “Sunshine for your ears…If Marquis Drive keeps bringing out bangers like this…who knows how society is going to function in a civilised manner!” RGM Magazine
“The Britpop revival starts here.” Resolution magazine
“Sheer brilliance” Clobber magazine
“Massive hit” Chris Moyles & “Anthemic, love it” Gordon Smart, Radio X
“Great band, they have 5 more like this” Alan McGee

MAZE.
The band started off life as a recording project between Paul Bassom and Gary Davis. After a while a whole body of work was written, promptly leading to the decision to record a debut EP. This EP would be entitled “From Start To Perfection” and was released in 2019. For this, the band bought in a lead guitarist, drummer and bass player.
After a one off gig to perform the EP and other songs live to an audience, the band decided to really give this a go after demand was high. This then led to a search for full time members and by early 2020 the full lineup of the band was complete and the second EP “Montrose Way” was released in July of the same year. In 2021/2 the band played many more gigs and have released 3 brand new singles “In My Mind”, “Lucid Dreams” and “Are You Ready”.
