Join seasoned mariners in the boat shop for a hands-on introduction to classic seamanship skills used aboard sailing vessels for centuries. Learn practical skills that every sailor (or rope enthusiast) should know.In this workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of marlinespike seamanship, focusing on ropework and basic techniques used in traditional sailmaking and repair. Through guided demonstrations and plenty of practice time, you’ll gain confidence working with traditional materials and tools while creating useful finished pieces to take home.
