Marlies Cornelis en Suzan Peeters laten voor dit concert hun creativiteit de vrije loop en doen dat voor het eerst als duo. Peeters belooft met een achtergrond in live electronics alvast een verrassende benadering van de sowieso veelzijdige accordeon. In oktober 2025 bracht ze haar eerste plaat Cassotto uit bij het Belgische blickwinkel — een avontuurlijke roadtrip. De titel verwijst naar een resonantiekamer in de accordeon, die de toon warmte, zachtheid en diepgang verleent.Marlies Cornelis steekt haar liefde voor hedendaags werk en experiment niet onder stoelen of banken. Met haar afstudeerproject Twenty Something (f.) legde ze de focus op jonge vrouwelijke componisten. Momenteel werkt ze aan een nieuw soloproject, The Untempered Pianist (f.), waarin ze het hokje van de gangbare concertpraktijk openbreekt en de traditionele stemming van de piano op de korrel neemt.

For this concert, Marlies Cornelis and Suzan Peeters are giving free rein to their creativity, performing as a duo for the first time. Peeters, with her background in live electronics, promises a surprising approach to the already versatile accordion. In October 2025, she released her debut album, Cassotto, on the Belgian label blickwinkel — an adventurous road trip. The title refers to a resonance chamber in the accordion which gives its tone warmth, softness and depth.
Marlies Cornelis is open about her love of contemporary work and experimentation. For her graduation project, Twenty Something (f.), she focused on young female composers. She is currently working on a new solo project called The Untempered Pianist (f.), in which she breaks down the boundaries of conventional concert practice and challenges the traditional tuning of the piano.
