Join us for the Farmstrong debut of Mark Tegio and Tom Conneely! Mark and Tom will be playing back to back solo sets that you don't want to miss!Mark Tegio is a Portland-based singer-songwriter, guitarist, and storyteller. Originally from San Diego, he began playing music as a child but set it aside while earning a mechanical engineering degree from UC Berkeley. After an unfulfilling stint in the corporate world, he embraced a nomadic life devoted to music. Tegio’s journey began with the duo "Smith and Tegio," solidifying his passion for the road. Now a solo artist and touring musician, he plays in multiple country bands in Portland. His songwriting, influenced by Tom Waits, Townes Van Zandt, and Blaze Foley, weaves tales of wanderers, dreamers, and outcasts—characters he’s embodied at different points in life. Combining poetic storytelling with raw, evocative vocals, Tegio crafts a unique sound that resonates with lovers of barroom poetry and heartfelt Americana.
Tom Conneely is a San Francisco-based singer-songwriter who released his debut album Cappuccino Springs in 2022, followed by the home-recorded Sun Child less than a year later. He has since toured the West Coast, performing everywhere from Los Angeles to Portland, including a recent set at Reno’s Offbeat Festival. His latest release, New Kind Palace—the second full-length from Tom Conneely & Birds of Paradise—marks a new creative chapter. Expanding on the lo-fi textures of Sun Child, the album blends analog warmth with experimental electronics, pairing trance-like rhythms with impressionistic lyrics in the vein of Arthur Russell and The Cleaners from Venus.
