Join the Port of San Diego as we celebrate Maritime Month with a free educational bus tour of the working waterfront.
Maritime Month highlights the sectors that contribute to our bay of life: cargo, cruise, shipbuilding and repair, and commercial and sportfishing. On this tour, you will experience the Port of San Diego’s two marine cargo terminals and see the waterfront like never before.
Lasting approximately one and a half hours, the tour visits the National City Marine Terminal, the most advanced vehicle import/export facility on the West Coast. Then, the tour continues on to see our Port’s important local shipbuilding and repair industry tenants where large ships are being worked on. Finally, the tour takes you to the Port’s Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal where refrigerated goods, wind energy components, and other commodities arrive in the United States from abroad.

You’ll Need to Remember
- Advance registration is required.
- Valid I.D. is required for terminal access.
- You must be 18+ to register and attend.
- Your printed ticket confirmation must be presented to board the bus.
- Tour will begin boarding 30 minutes prior to departure at Pepper Park, 3299 Tidelands Ave, National City, CA 91950.
- Registering guest may have up to two (2) different names per ticket. One for registrant and one for their named guest.
- Guest names on the ticket are required for boarding.
- You can only register for one Port Maritime Month bus tour to allow for space for other guests. If you have attended a Maritime Month Bus Tour in the past 3 years, we kindly ask that you make space for new guests.
- Tours have limited seating and will be filled on a first come, first served reserve basis.
Parking Information
Parking is limited; as part of our commitment to sustainability, we encourage you and your guest to use public transportation, carpool, or rideshare services.
