About this Event
Marisa Skelpsa-Muñoz (she/they) is a queer, mixed-race Chicana, joyful weirdo, pleasure activist, painter, and introverted mermaid. Marisa paints as she loves: fiercely and tenderly. Born and raised in this desert, she is moved by the intrinsic connection between the joys and pains of our bodies and this land. She expresses that movement using evocative imagery and a color palette that cackles in the face of shame and repression. Outside of painting, Marisa has dedicated energy in the fields of reproductive justice, sexual health, LGBTQ+ education, and DEI.
