On Friday, February 7, 2025, join us for the opening of Storyteller: The Photography of Jerry Jacka. In 2024, the Heard Museum received a landmark gift of the Jerry Jacka archive, which makes us stewards of one of the largest and most consequential collections of documentary photography of Native American artists in the nation. Storyteller highlights Jacka’s renowned photography featured in Arizona Highways magazine and his portraits of iconic American Indian artists paired with examples of their artwork from the museum’s collection. The Billie Jane Baguley Library & Archives will be open late for this one-of-a-kind evening, allowing you to immerse yourself in an additional twenty of Jacka’s captivating works.
