Set sail from Sausalito for an ecology-themed wildlife tour of the Marin Headlands, all the way out to Point Bonita Lighthouse
About this Event

This signature San Francisco Bay Adventure sail, boarding in Sausalito, will take you under the Golden Gate Bridge and out to Point Bonita Lighthouse. This is a prime area for wildlife and we'll have a naturalist on-board to guide you through the experience!

You'll learn about the history and diverse ecosystems of the Bay, and how to identify the seabirds, pinnipeds (seals and sea lions), and cetaceans (whales, dolphins, and porpoises) that inhabit our "Serengeti of the West." Don't forget your binoculars!

Schooner Freda B is a sea kind 80' gaff rigged coastal schooner, making her one of the San Francisco Bay's most comfortable and traditional vessels to sail. Experience the romance of yesteryear with a local, licensed Captain and Professional Crew.

Schedule:

Boarding - 9:15 am

Departure - 9:30 am

Return - 12:00 pm

This sail is a local and visitor favorite. Secure your tickets today.

On Deck Bar and Provisions:

Deck Bar is open - accepting cash, credit cards, and Apple/Google Pay.

French Press Coffee and sodas: $5 per bottle/can/mug

House Bubbles and Mimosas: $12 per glass

No outside beverages are permitted aboard. We strongly encourage our guests to support local SAUSALITO RESTAURANTS before boarding or upon return.

Parking and Location

Please plan on arriving early to find parking and the boat.

"" is searchable on Google/Apple Maps. That is the location for boarding in Sausalito.

For parking, we recommend the municipal lots surrounding Sausalito Yacht Harbor. Parking cost is per hour and Parking Lot #2 or Parking Lot #3 are the closest (searchable on maps).

Once parked, walk north towards The Spinnaker Restaurant. You'll soon come across a wooden boardwalk that leads to our dock (look for the two red masts).

If you are lost, search "Schooner Freda B" on any Maps app. Or, see your ticket confirmation for the "boat phone" number to call.

Weather

Sailing on the San Francisco Bay is weather-dependent. We sail in most weather, including cold, wind, fog, and light showers. On occasion, we will need to reschedule a sail due to extreme wind or rain. If this is necessary, you will usually be notified within 24-48 hours of the scheduled sail.

If the Captain must cancel due to weather, our sales team will work with you to reschedule or refund your order. The Captain and Crew monitor the most sophisticated weather channels to make every effort to bring you information in the timeliest manner. We apologize in advance if the weather complicates any special occasion plans.

Guest Cancellation

Due to the popularity of this sail, we do not offer guests an option to cancel or reschedule within 7 days. If you need to cancel, please do so at least 1 week in advance. To cancel or transfer tickets, please email [email protected].
