The cultural festival "Lithuanian Days Aotearoa 2024" invites you to "Re-imagining World," an exhibition by Marina Pauliukova, an artist whose deep connection to nature is vividly expressed through her work. Growing up amidst forests and lakes, Marina developed a profound bond with the natural world, which continues to inspire her artistic vision.
Marina's journey has taken her from the serene landscapes of her youth in Lithuania to the vibrant surroundings of the Canary Islands and now New Zealand, where she finds endless inspiration in its diverse environments. During the pandemic, nature became her sanctuary, leading her to explore and reflect on our fragile relationship with the environment. This exploration is at the heart of her work, emphasising the delicate balance of nature and our role in protecting it.
"Re-imagining World" marks a pivotal moment in Marina's career, as she incorporates real elements from nature into her art for the first time. This process has allowed her to push artistic boundaries and challenge conventional perceptions, inviting viewers to experience nature's beauty in a new and transformative way.
We invite you to join us and witness Marina's unique interpretation of the natural world through her innovative and thought-provoking creations.
The Festival is funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and Foundation North and supported by the Lithuanian Society of New Zealand and LinenMe.
