🎬 French film with English subtitles
Join us for the second screening of Mardi Cinéma, our monthly event celebrating the best of classic French cinema with expert insights. Each session features a renowned French film, followed by a discussion led by a specialist in the field.
This month, we continue our spotlight on Louis Malle with his 1960 cult classic Zazie dans le métro, a wildly inventive comedy based on the novel by Raymond Queneau. A whirlwind of slapstick humor and surrealist visuals, this film is a delightful ride through Paris, seen through the mischievous eyes of a 10-year-old girl.
🎥 Synopsis
Zazie, a bold and rebellious young girl, arrives in Paris to visit her uncle. Her dream? To ride the metro. But when a strike derails her plans, she embarks on a madcap adventure through the city, encountering a colorful cast of eccentric characters along the way. With its fast-paced editing and absurd humor, Zazie dans le métro remains a landmark of the French New Wave.
