March of Honor Join us for a 1-mile, 5-mile, or 10-mile Ruck March—a powerful challenge rooted in military tradition, community service, and honoring those who served.
A ruck march is simple in concept and tough in execution: walk while carrying a weighted backpack. But this event is about far more than distance or weight. Every step you take is taken in memory or in honor of a Veteran. Each participant will march for a specific Veteran—someone who served and matters to you. Your race bib will include space to write their name, which you’ll carry on your ruck throughout the march, symbolically walking in their place. You may march as an individual or as a team honoring one person together.
Ruck With Purpose
Participants may weight their backpacks however they choose, but we encourage using donated items for the homeless, including:
• Hygiene supplies
• Ready-to-eat foods
• Sunscreen & bug spray
• Gatorade or electrolyte drinks
• Basic first-aid items
At the finish line, rucks are unpacked and items are sorted and packed for community distribution, with plans to support a Stand Down event in June. Your effort directly turns into impact.
This event blends Physical challenge, Camaraderie and teamwork, Service to the community and Honoring our Veterans. It’s meant to push you, bond you with others, and remind you why discomfort can be meaningful.
The course includes 9 rest stops plus the finish line, each staffed by sponsors or volunteers providing:
• Refreshments and hydration
• Shade and basic first aid
• Encouragement, motivation, and physical challenges to keep the energy high

When you shoulder a weighted pack and put one foot in front of the other, you’re doing more than completing a march—you’re walking in someone else’s boots.
For a Veteran experiencing homelessness, stability isn’t a single moment—it’s a series of hard steps. A bus pass. A night indoors. Utilities turned on. A stocked pantry. A key to an apartment. These are the same steps your miles help provide.
This march is uncomfortable by design. It’s meant to be hard. Because for many Veterans, the road back to stability is harder.
Choose your distance. Choose your impact. Write their name. Then march—step by step—in their honor and toward their next home.
