“I am so pleased that the mead is brewed.” Jane Austen, March 9, 1814.Jane Austen brewed her own mead, the world's oldest alcoholic beverage, and you can too! In this workshop you will learn some mead history, lore and how to make mead from honey. Mead samples will be offered to taste throughout the event. After the fermentation process, which is about a month, Maryland Homebrew will bottle the batch of mead made during the workshop for each participant. You can retrieve your bottle from Maryland Homebrew or you can retrieve your bottle at The Maryland Jane Austen Festival, May 2nd, at the JASNA MD tent.
Light refreshments will be served and all are welcomed to meet at nearby Cushwa and Rad Pies Taproom after the workshop. https://www.cushwaradpiestaproom.com/
JASNA Member Fee: $40 Non-Member Fee: $50 (Fee is for the workshop, light refreshments and bottle of mead only; social time at the Taproom post-workshop is not included in the sign-up fee).
